Jammu, India: Police in Jammu and Kashmir have arrested an accused in a road rage case that left 18 people injured and several people missing after a car ploughed into a crowd of people in the town of Eden High School in the state’s capital on Saturday.
Jammu police chief Satish Kumar confirmed the arrest of a 22-year-old woman and a 22, and said two other people were detained in connection with the incident.
Police have recovered the car, which had been reported stolen, from the scene of the attack on Eden High.
A passerby reported seeing the car being driven by a man on a motorbike.
Police said they had arrested a suspect and two others in connection to the attack.
A police statement said the man had been identified as Arjun, and that he was a resident of Jammu.
It said the other two people had been detained.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Shukha, from Jammu’s Kupwara district.
A local government official in J&k said Shukhba was living in Eden High’s city-owned building.
He said that Shukhas father had lodged a complaint against him for a similar incident earlier this month, and the police had lodged an FIR.
